Almost Made It

I failed my goal last week of posting everyday again, but I did pretty well with it, so no apologies here. I will blame 13.1 for that. Or maybe I can blame the AM Airdyne work, that really sucks time out of my day, in a good way?

The end of last week was pretty interesting, testing some open workouts from last year, which is always a bit stressful, wanting to beat scores from last year after 12 months of training, I don’t know how I wouldn’t, but still scary to think about. I really only tested one open workout, but I tested it twice, after AM Airdyne both days. It was a tough couple days.

Airdyne 60:60 (work:rest) x 20 sets, record calories per set
PM:
A1: Ascending Rep Ladder EMOM Muscle Ups, add 1 MU to every minute

AMRAP 17 min:
40 Burpees
30 Snatch (75#)
30 Burpees
30 Snatch (135#)
20 Burpees
30 Snatch (165#)
10 Burpees
AMRAP Snatch (210#)
*80% effort, think practice

The good news, is that my 80% effort, was still 8 reps better than my score from 2013, that’s a victory I think, even though there might be some strategy work to happen still. And I’m sure the AM work didn’t help either, even doing the MU’s I felt pretty tired in the arms.

What’s more fun than testing Open workouts? Testing them two days in a row! Guess what didn’t make it easier, AM Airdyne. I love to hate AM Airdyne. The goods news out of this one, is that my 100% effort, and a bit of strategy improvement lead to another 5 reps, plus 1 missed snatch, so potentially 6. Ideally, fresh + 100% effort, I might even get back to the last round of burpees. Maybe?

Speaking of AM Airdyne, Monday rituals are the best huh? Or Thursdays? or Fridays?
