Fuck Yes

Fuck Yes

This is my “Fuck Yes” post.

To cite my sources, this is really from here, and the original article is about relationships. So I’m going a little outside of the box here, I haven’t forgotten this blog is about Crossfit. I’m going to try and convince you, and maybe myself a little bit, that this can apply to things outside of love. Everything is a relationship, your relationship with yourself, your relationship with your job, with your workouts, everything. So why waste time doing something that isn’t a “Fuck Yes”? Something new in your life should inspire a “Fuck Yes” and it should keep inspiring that. Further, it should give you something back, it should enrich you, challenge you, make you better. I’ve been through a lot of changes lately, I quit my job, I’ve started grad school, I’ve started training harder and more focused than I ever have before; and now more than ever the law of “Fuck Yes” makes sense. Invest in yourself, choose relationships that count, and run hard at them. Find your “Fuck Yes”.

Training this last week was interesting. The amount of gymnastics volume has been surprising, for the traditional “off season” I would expect more strict strength work, high squat volume, lots of pressing, etc. Really there hasn’t been very much of it at all, especially squatting. I haven’t done a barbell back squat in almost 9 days, I think my legs are shriveling! Seriously though, its been weird, but so far I haven’t noticed any downsides, I feel good, I feel strong, and my conditioning work has been going well. So for now, it’s all about trust. Trust the program, give it 100% effort, and see what comes out. Not nearly as many gross WOD’s as the week prior. Finally adjusting to the volume of everything though and getting back into the rhythm of setting PR’s.

School means Sunday night are study nights…and one of us doesn’t like it when we study.
