Apparently I’m sarcastic and passive aggressive. Who knew?! Good thing it doesn’t bother anyone, otherwise I might have to … yeah, that’s not going to change ever. The tagline “Few and Far Between” makes reference to the fact that Saturday was a rare “good day”. Nothing felt junky, or painful, or overly tight, weights moved pretty well with few relative misses, and the misses weren’t even gross miscalculations, just minor infractions or distractions. I really can’t emphasize how good days like this feel. It’s hard enough dedicating yourself to something when it’s simply difficult, but when you add discomfort, pain, displeasure, frustration, etc – it just gets downright masochistic in there. Thankfully those days are few and far between as well, with the right habits.

I switched it up a bit and decided to tape a couple reps from the front. It’s just a different vantage point, my emphasis used to be so focused on my back angle and the bar position from the floor that it really didn’t make sense to watch it from other angles. Now that I’ve progressed its nice to watch some other thing like speed of bar, the turnover, the lockout, etc. All things I can now start to really narrow in on.

Of course it still makes sense to watch them from the side, and outside of the large jump forward on the first rep here, I’m quite pleased with this set.

I like power cleans. I think all cleans should be power cleans. Why waste all this extra time and effort squatting it? Just power clean that fucker and get it over with. New goal – power clean 315+; let’s make this happen.

Finally got to the store yesterday. Nothing like 9 lbs of grass fed ground beef, 6 lbs of sushi rice, and 6 pints of ice cream to draw some funny looks from the checkers at Whole Foods. They asked if I was having a party… just my #beachseason diet, no big deal.

Speaking of tangents, and beach season, this made me laugh far too hard. If it wasn’t $31 I might’ve actually bought it. Also still deciding how much respect I’ll lose for not having sleeves, at least it comes with a built in excuse. It’s not my fault, it started with sleeves.

I literally eat this plate of food for dinner at least 6 nights of the week. It doesn’t get old, or at least hasn’t yet, and all my numbers are moving in the right directions. Hard to argue with that. Why would you? If you haven’t gotten the memo yet, eat more, do more.
