Yesterday was Mashup Monday if you need some new gym tunes check it out. It’s a great distraction. I’m struggling to find something interesting to talk about regarding training. I just bought Chris “Barbell Buddha” Moore’s book, “Progress” – if you’ve been reading this lately you know I’ve been struggling a bit with, well progress, and finding peace with my training. I’m hoping an outside perspective will shine some light and maybe help me lighten up and find the fun that I used to have with training. I haven’t started it yet – but I’ve heard some great feedback about it, so I’m cautiously optimistic.

Yesterday’s training continued in the trend of, piecing together bits from last weeks program. This was actually Friday’s weightlifting and conditioning, attached to Monday’s AM Airdyne work. I guess this will just continue the rest of the cycle – unless I start double dipping there’s no way I’ll get back to the right day. I like doing AM Airdyne because it means I get to eat rice at lunch, and I love rice. Bodies love carbs. Mmmm carbs.

The weight training volume was actually pretty light on the volume side without any real strict strength work. The clean complex was interesting, clean high pulls are a new one for me, I’m not sure how I feel about them yet. It feels kind of like a dynamic pendlay row and good morning. Jerk repeats got tough, I missed my 3rd rep on the 2nd set at 85%, but I did a 4th rep just for solidarity – I hate ending on a miss. The conditioning was more of a movement circuit, so the time is less relevant than just completing the reps unbroken. I had to sub T2B for GHD Sit-ups because there was no room on our pullup rig yesterday. I don’t think it really ended up affecting the end result. If anything it was a bit more fatiguing for the Hollow Rocks.

All in all I’m just trying to find my center again. I’ll let you know how it goes.
