I’m finally back and blogging again – hopefully now that my computer is fixed I didn’t lose too many of you guys during the hiatus. I really did miss sharing my every passing thought with strangers on the ineternet…guess I’m just weird like that…
PANCAKES! Oh good now I’ve got your attention. The best part and the worst part of the weekend, is that it gives you great opportunities to eat delicious delicious garbage.
These were three of the best pancakes I’ve ever eaten. I don’t eat a lot of pancakes, so I’m not sure how they really stack up across the world; but to me, they were fantastic. Banana pancakes are going to set me on the road to that bodyweight snatch. God it’s so close I can taste it, and it tastes like amazing pancakes.

Now to Saturday. Friday was a pretty rough day, I was surprised to feel as good as I did after the tempo squats and clean pulls. Saturday wasn’t much better, outside of the L-sits the day was kind of a mess. The handstand holds sucked, not from a strength perspective, I’m definitely strong enough to hold myself up, it was 100% balance. I tried a few against a wall and started to feel it out for a few second, but couldn’t seem to find a way to hold it for anything longer than a few seconds. Gonna spend a few hours today knocking through some progressions to try and figure this out a bit better.
The conditioning didn’t look pretty on paper, and looked even worse in person. At least my original thought, which was that I had to do 135# squats, turned out to be false, only air squats. My goal was to just try and keep a pace, a solid 80% all the way through, going to hard on any one round would’ve blown me out for the duration. I did all the clean and jerks as singles, just like I would probably do in the open, and I did the air squats as either 15-10 to start, or 10-10-5 towards the end. The double unders just took whatever form I could get them in, always a struggle those… Obviously this wasn’t going to be quick anyway you slice’d it, 76 power cleans and jerks, 225 air squats, 270 double unders – 571 reps, 17 reps a minute, I think that’s a pretty good working pace. I was pleased with how I felt after, I thought my legs would be destroyed but nothing like it. Shock and awe…
The rest of the weekend was spent eating pancakes, cooking chicken, and reading about the 2013 World’s in Poland, mostly drooling at hookgrip’s photo’s of Lu Xiaojun training – holy balls…
